I’ve recently produced a series of videos that showcase private and independent schools across Canada. These overviews highlight the unique programs and educational philosophies of each institution, aiming to help families in navigating their school choices. I’m sharing them here as part of the ongoing work I’ve been doing with Our Kids Media. This video covers Kingsway College School, located in Etobicoke, Ontario.
Kingsway College School (KCS) combines discipline with a supportive, nurturing environment, with the aim of supporting both academic success and personal growth. The school emphasizes a balance of academics, arts, sports, and citizenship through its “Four Doors to Learning” framework. Parents appreciate the focus on active, experiential learning and the school’s efforts to equip students with the skills needed for the 21st century.
KCS offers a Junior School (JK-Grade 8) and a Senior School (Grades 9-12), each with a modern, purpose-built design. Project-based learning, real-world connections, and service learning are integral, encouraging students to become independent, well-rounded learners. The school also provides strong academic support and wellness programs, ensuring students’ mental health is prioritized.
KCS promotes diversity, inclusion, and a sense of community, with a focus on developing leadership and citizenship. The parent community is actively involved, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. With over 40 clubs and co-curricular activities, students are encouraged to explore new interests and talents. Through a combination of academic rigor, life skills, and emotional development, KCS’s mission is to prepare students to be confident, compassionate leaders in and beyond the classroom.
